A 29-year-old man, Beka Nebi Dekebo, has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a woman, making threats to police, and barricading himself inside an apartment during a lengthy standoff.
According to officials, the incident began with a call to police at around 2:10 a.m. at the location of East 122nd & Burnside. Responding officers found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times on the MAX platform. She was promptly taken to the hospital by paramedics for treatment.
TriMet confirmed that the stabbing did not occur on their property or vehicles. Instead, the victim is believed to have sought help at the MAX platform, where a member of the community found her and made the 911 call.
Police have stated that the victim and suspect are acquainted, and the incident originated as a domestic dispute.
